Betty Jo Bullard

Betty Jo Bullard, 89, of Ozona, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024. 

Betty was born on January 19, 1935 in Electra, Texas, to Robert K. and Lorene (Mathis) Shirley. She married Redmond W. Bullard on November 23, 1955. After several moves, they made Ozona, Texas, their home in 1975. Betty was a devoted member of the Ozona Church of Christ. She was active in her community volunteering with Crockett County EMS and Helping Hands, and was recognized by the San Angelo Area Agency on Aging for her dedication. 

Betty enjoyed gardening, writing poetry and short stories, oil painting and ceramics. She loved hosting friends for dominoes and card games. An exceptional cook, she is fondly remembered for her dinner day chicken and dressing and the giant pot of stew she often made for her large family. 

Betty is survived by her Children: Janice (Lloyd) Weaver, Jeanene Fullen, Redmond Wesley Bullard, Asa (Sharon) Bullard, Kerry (Kathi) Bullard, and Roy Bullard; 16 grandchildren, 33 great- grandchildren, and 20 great- great grandchildren; and her brother Dan (Becky) Shirley. 

Betty is preceded in death by her husband Redmond W. Bullard, her infant daughter, Donna, and her brothers, Leland Shirley and Dean Shirley. 

The family would like to thank the Crockett County Care Center staff and her hospice team for the compassionate care she received. 

Viewing will be at Preddy Funeral Home on Sunday, November 24, 2024 , from 

6 – 9 p.m. Services will be officiated by Garrett Morado at the Ozona Church of Christ November 25, 2024 at 11 a.m. followed by graveside at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Ozona, Tx.
