 April 11, 1935 
Fire protection for property in Ozona will soon be available with the placing of an order this week by the Crockett County Commissioners Court for a complete firefighting equipment, including a new pumper and truck, hose, ladder, chemicals, etc, and completion of arrangements for a local fire station, properly manned. After negotiations that have been in progress for several weeks the Court this week accepted a contract with the American Body and Equipment Co. of Dallas to completely equip a Chevrolet truck, purchased through the North Motor Co., local dealers, with all necessary firefighting equipment.  

April 12, 1945 
As a gift of the Parent Teachers Association and the War Service Committee of Ozona, a handsome service flag, carrying stars from Crockett County who have been in uniform, will be formally presented to people of the county as a memorial to the men from this county who have served and are serving in the various branches of the armed services in World War II at a program to be presented in the high school auditorium at 8:30 Monday evening, April 23, it was announced this week by Mrs. S. M. Harvick, chairman of the P. T. A. service flag committee. Honoring every boy from Crockett County, the flag will carry a star with a roll of names beneath, the names and stars arranged in such order that each star represents a certain service man whose name appears on the roll in the same position. 

April 7, 1955 
Circulation of a petition to the Commissioners Court asking that body to call an election in Crockett County on the question of issuing $200,000 in county bonds for the purpose of building a new county hospital was scheduled to start this week. The Ozona Women’s Club, Mr. Mad Schneemann, president, has agreed to circulate the petition to get the required number of signers to call the election. 

April 8, 1965 
In an effort to interest every resident of Ozona in doing his or her part in seeing that the town undergoes a thorough Spring housecleaning during the annual Spring Clean-Up Campaign, telephone committees have been at work this week calling every telephone subscriber to ask cooperation in the clean-up. The clean-up is sponsored by the Ozona Woman's Club and members of the telephoning committee yesterday reported a great deal of interest, and even enthusiasm, is being expressed by residents when informed of the clean-up drive. 

April 10, 1975 
FIRST PLACE IN DISTRICT WENT TO OZONA HIGH SCHOOL for its one-act play, "The Crosspatch," plus three best actor awards. Bill Bissett, center, holds the winning trophy, he was named "Best Actor." Virginia Henderson and Suzanne Williamswon slots on the "All-Star Cast." In back is Johnny Clark, drama director. The Ozona cast competed with four other one-act plays at the district UIL contest in Big Lake Friday night. The play was performed for the public Tuesday night in the high school auditorium and will compete in regional in Midland this weekend.
