National to local matters voted on

Millions of voters made their voices heard on Election Day, Nov. 5. Donald J. Trump claimed the Presidency with 71,682,257 votes (50.9%), winning an unofficial total of 277 electoral votes. Kamala D. Harris secured 66,788,784 votes (47.4%), gaining 223 electoral votes.
The November ballot also allowed people in thousands of communities across the county to vote for state and county representatives as well as local propositions.
Crockett County reported that voters cast 1,431 ballots. The unofficial election results as of 8:51 p.m. on Nov. 5 reported county residents voted in the Presidential election as follows:
Donald J. Trump and JD Vance REP—1,085 votes
Kamala D. Harris and Tim Walz DEM—323 votes
Chase Oliver and Mike ter Maat LIB—3 votes
Jill Stein and Rudolph Ware GRN—4 votes
Write-In Totals—3 votes.
Crockett County voters also voted in a few local races, including some important items for the Crockett County Consolidated Common School District. The unofficial results are as follows:
At-Large District 7
Travis Davidson—530 votes
Ray Don Myers—670 votes
Single Member District 1
Annette DeHoyos—115 votes
Jared Shaffer—106 votes
Single Member District 2
Allen Claburn—98 votes
Dean Fierro—96 votes.
Mario Mendoza ran unopposed for District 6.
Crockett County Consolidated Common School District No. 1 - Proposition A
For—844 votes
Against—449 votes
Crockett County Consolidated Common School District No. 1 - Proposition B
For—857 votes
Against—463 votes.
Perhaps the most striking local story of the election was the vote for sheriff, in which only Antonio G. Alejandro III appeared on the ballot. However, Victor De La Garza ran as a write-in candidate.
