Erection of a church for the benefit of the negro population of Ozona has been adopted as a project of the Ozona Community Council and after a discussion of the project at the meeting of the group this week, Mrs. Strick Harvick was named as chairman of a committee to study the plan. This committee will study plans for the project, consult architects and contractors and submit their findings at the next meeting of the Council. The county has offered to donate two blocks of land which the county owns west of the old Ramirez boot shop site in the southwest area of the city as a site for the church. If erection of the church is found possible, a drive for public subscription to finance the project will be launched.

While the county judge and several members of the Commissioners Court were out of the city attending a convention in El Paso, the Crockett County Hospital Board marked time early this week after two emergency sessions were called by Chairman Jack Baggett, following the dismissal late last week of Mrs. Charles L. Williams, Jr., R.N. as head of the nursing staff of the hospital, a position she has held since the hospital was created here. Mrs. Williams was dismissed by newly appointed Hospital Administrator Norman Olson, formerly of Kerrville, who was employed by the hospital as anesthetist and promoted to administrator when veteran administrator, J. B. Post, asked to be relieved of the responsibility because of poor health. Olson had had no previous experience as a hospital administrator, though he had served as nurse and anesthetist in the Veterans Hospital at Kerrville and in the Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital there.
