Alicia Diaz Vargas

Alicia Diaz Vargas, 72, passed away on August 4, 2025, in her home.

She was born on December 31, 1952, in Ozona to the late Eduvigen “Bieke” Diaz and Theodora Lara Diaz. She is survived by her brothers, Humberto Diaz and Humberto Diaz Jr.

On September 12, Alicia married Richard Vargas, her husband of 54 years, who survives her. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and loving grandmother. She is survived by her children, Richard Vargas Jr. and Reba Leigh Vargas; and by her grandchildren, Kristen Hernandez, Annie Adames, David Vargas, Ivana Hernandez, and Aries Hernandez.

She loved playing the piano, reading her Bible, and playing board games with her grandchildren. Alicia was a phenomenal cook who cherished hosting holiday gatherings where her home was filled with warmth, laughter, and good food. She was an active member of her congregation and the women’s ministry at Templo Siloe.

Alicia’s legacy of faith, joy, and unconditional love will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
